some of this, a little of that

They are the stock tires, but they were still pretty new at that time. They honestly did not do too bad. I have 33,xxx on them now and my BFG's will be here today in preparation for this winter. :)

Alright, I didn't want to have to pull this card...but I guess I'm gonna have to. I was trying to just show a picture of my truck, but why not while driving too. And they say always sunny in California......

    limited slip differential.

usually clutch style which transfers power to a spinning wheel to the other side. Ex. truck in snow, when you get stuck one tire will spin and the other side sits there worthless. with a lsd it will transfer power to the other side to keep you moving...

on 09+ tacomas they have TRAC and Auto lsd which uses brakes to transfer power rather than a clutch in the differential. Works like having lsd in the front and rear of the truck which = awesome traction

stock, TRAC is automatically turned off in 4lo but the yellow wire mod (link in my signature) will enable the trac system in 4lo and it works awesome in snow

No snow or anything, but everything that had water on the road the night before was frozen, the morning dew got frozen too.

    Last winter.

this past January me and some friends rented a cabin up on a mountain in the mountains in NC. we werent really expecting snow, but we also didnt check the weather which we def should have. the closer we got to the cabin and to the top of the mountain the harder it snowed. had a friend following me in his jeep Cherokee. we passed the cabin on accident and had to turn around and go back down. as we got to the driveway i stopped to check the address and i looked up in my mirror and saw what looked like my buddy in his jeep pulling up behind me and off to the right (toward the edge of the mountain and probally a 50 foot drop). but he had a "OH SHIT!" face. i got out and walked back to check on him and the 2 passengers, turned out they hit ice and were slidding toward the edge of the drop off and he threw it in reverse and hit the gas to stop, probally a foot from going over. my truck made it half way up the steep ass driveway, hit ice under deep snow and slid backwards probally 20 feet. the next day we had some neighbors we found come help us and plow the driveway with 4 wheelers. this is the only pictures i have of the snow...

after i moved my truck the next day...

and the front deck where the hot tub was...

and looking out the upstairs window..notice throught the trees you can almost see the slope of the driveway. we all busted our asses multiple times walking up and down it because of the ice under the snow...

and a couple more from the trip...

So how did the cop let you go if you had no license Plates or registration?? Isn't that something you do before you leave the dealer? Also this thread is worthless without pics!! If there are no pics then it didn't happen! This thread will just turn into a, who can come up with the craziest story thread!!

Oh did I mention I drove across antarctica!!! On a motorcycle! But my camera broke and I don't have pictures!!

Bonus points for pictures taken while driving from drivers seat in said severe weather.

Also that story about the blizzard is plausible, because I was with some friends years ago during a bad blizzard where the highway was closed. We went the 'old highway' (which ended up being many times worse) and found an onramp onto the real highway that was 'open' (but unplowed, which we found odd). Got onto the highway and drove alone until meeting a trooper at the end who was impressed we made it onto the highway and there without issue and said 'carry on!'
