Thanks! The suspension is stock. I know the wheel/tire combo is overplayed but I still love it. The gray will look amazing!

If you are dead set on a Tacoma, I would wait until 2018. There are a lot of issues being worked out right now.

No shit? I thought you couldn't touch one for under $35K. I paid around $29,900 out the door for my '06 brand new.

Did you see the poll that was taken here? About 75% of owners don't have any issues. The other 25% are a very loud minority...

I just traded in a Tacoma 2004 Off Road for a 3rd Gen 2017 4x4 Sport. Third Toyota truck I have owned. Only problem I had with the 2004 was about 3 months ago the air conditioning went out. That truck had about 180,000 miles on it! I LOVED my previous trucks and LOVE the 2017!

Happy tacos owner! End of story!!!

Right. Let's point out steel quality on the cab to knock on the previous gen where zero of the problems rely. Keep reaching

Here is my Taco that I bought in 01/16. Its been problem free and the quality is amazing. The only issue I have is that I keep adding more mods to to it. hahafd4d20b4-5ede-4a69-8c80-a4baa72eb6d7_zps_b83f40ef7008c8b02b684643db77f92e418684c2.jpg

I've actually hear of a lot of the same problems on the 2nd Gen, much of our trucks are carry over and still have the same issues but some they say they fixed such as the syncros. The first gen Tacomas use to blow head gaskets bad, a lot of techs called them junk. They changed the gasket to a different one and that's one of the best trucks toyota made. It's far to early to be making judgment calls. I got in my dad's tundra this weekend, 2011 w 40k, the diff howls at 50-55. Rumble strip is odd, not bad by any means, just a slight stutter coming to a stop. But our issues might not really be issues, just slightly annoying things that I'm over. I started a 3rd gen reliability poll. A large majority, at least for here, said they have no issues. I had asked that if they voted for having a major reliability issue to tell us what it was, out of the 11%(20people?) Only 4 or so actually said their problem, the rest were trolls for all we know, but even taking it as it is, most 3rd gens here aren't blowing up and falling apart, just a few kinks. I don't call diff howl a problem yet, since yes they replaced them, but it didn't fix anything, therefore the techs and toyota don't know the issue or if there is one. A few people here though have got lemons

    Fixed that for you.

Online polls in an enthusiast forum are not indicative of reality; generally they will be overindicative of any issues.

Someone has to already visit TW. They have to have seen the poll thread. They have to have been interested enough to open it and vote. Of the overall population of Taco owners, those who've had an issue are more likely to seek out an online forum and more likely to take the time to vote in a poll like that as a way to vent their frustration.

@Shelf Life Yes, sir. The wife hit up the internet managers for about 25 dealerships with the following requirements:

    SR5
    V6
    4X4
    DCSB or DCLB
    Tow
No Blue, No Black, No White (any other color is fine)
No other options (I didn't want all those things to jack up the price)

I can't remember if she put in a price or not, but a couple came back with decent offers. We drove 200ish miles to Mississippi (out of state). My CU had everything ready and we spent about 20 minutes at the dealership and drove off with the truck. Easiest auto purchase I've made, but the wife and the CU did a lot of the work.

We did find that Gulf States Toyota likes to add foofooraw and use it to really inflate the sale price. They must make a good profit on it. I'd like to have the appearance package or maybe an OR, but I didn't really need it. Though I may add a locker in the future thanks to this forum.
