Have you driven one? I've been in loaners that are in worse shape than my truck (howl louder or vibrate badly between 1900-2300rpm). I'm not lying when I say I've been in probably 2-3 dozen 3rd gens. They have all had varying degrees of the common problems people post here. Some have been terrible.

Geez! Thirteen pages of people attacking each other because they have Tacos that don't have issues.

I've owned all gens.....1st had no problems, 2nd a few, 3rd more than any gen.

The point is that designs should be progressively more reliable and trouble free, not more problematic.

    This is inexcusable, period.

When the consumer accepts mediocrity, that's what you'll get.

Now, the 3rd gen has some really nice improvements. Interior, awesome OR, and great ride, but the drivetrain is total poo. It just is.

If a mid size truck scares the "heck" out of you you might want to stop being such a pussy. Seriously man. Stop being a massive f-ing pussy.

    GOT EM!!!

You're being a pedant. When you are done looking up that word (and basking in the irony), you'll realize its just a saying.

But you sure seem tough as F bro!

Side note, there are a lot more first and second gens on the road and have been on the road some 10 years longer with less problems than the turd gen.

I'm one of the first 3rd gen owners, and yet to have any issues that I'd complain about.

Those frames rusting in half, ball joints coming apart, wheel bearing failures, etc. the list goes on. Don't be so naive

You guys are old enough to drive can you have a mature conversation?

I'm not trying to suppress the dialogue, but can we be a little more intelligent in our responses?

My reaponse was tongue in cheek although me thinks it might have been interpreted as sincerity. I can and will be crass but we should all lighten up a bit. A big effing bit! Stop being so sensitive Mercia!

A relative of mine just posted this on Facebook and I couldn't agree more. He's my brother in law. God bless him.

Everything minus the frame is wearable item but even with them worn out its still more reliable.

    Sure. Dream on.
3rd gen pulls more quicker and outrun all others.
    Has better interior and exterior.
Reliability will be proven with time as Toyo always does.

Pulling quicker is irrelevant to reliability
Interior and exterior are still second gen with little face lift more of it being concentrated on the interior
Im know they will work out the bugs in the next year or two.

The bugs like squeaky springs which I had in a 95. Wow.
The holes up front that howl. Fainting.
The differential which is like a cat chasing its tail, not an issue I believe.
What is freaking major reliability dude ?????
    I have ZERO issues.
I read about all of these bugs here at Tacoma WARD which are probably .000000000001 % of the fleet. LOL. Do you see Taco lines at the dealer all the time ? No.
Any truck or car has issues, but doesn't mean everyone does. Can't you realize that ???
