    go drive a used 14 or 15 then test drive a 16 or 17. pay attention to the power when driving then go from there. i have had no issues but others (a few) have nightmare story's.

    I have a 3rd gen and I wonder the same damn thing.

    OP, the many people that don't have problems stopped coming/posting on here because they are sick of the constant whining from the few that do have issues.

    I've had 2 3rd gens and no problems with either other than I had the tranny TSB done on my current truck. Go to the dealer, drive a truck. If you like it, buy it.

    I don't think the people who have one will admit if they made a bad choice. I think maybe some of those who don't have one may by jeolous and make them sound like they are crap. I think they look pretty good and would get one if it was the right time for me to buy a new vehicle.
