Because I've owned Toyota's my whole life. I thought, this was a no brainer and it drove ok on the test.

Now, not so much. People change, companies change....sometimes not for the best. That's what happened with the 3rd gen.

I hope you enjoy your truck. I do not. Why is that a bad thing?

I'm happy to sell this if you think it's so great. Anyone?

Yea, didn't think so. I'll go to the local dealership tomorrow and take a pick of the returned 2016s. They have more 2016s than 2017s.

Dude, this is real. Accept it.

Go buy a Tundra with the 5.7. Thinking about trading my 07 tacoma for a 09 tundra. F150 is better than 3rd gen.

I don't mind the looks of the new one.

If the 2nd gen didn't get such shit MPG I probably would've just bought a used 2015. But considering the 2016 is rated for better MPG and still not the best rather not get a 2nd gen.
Everyone I've talked to through work (construction so lots of trucks) say they love their 2nd gen but its terrible on fuel.

my sarcasm was so thick on the first post I needed to reply twice, everyone that has drove these truck knows they are great, thats why you can barley find one at the dealership to even test drive in my parts of the world. They are always a save buy.

last year took me forever to get test drives for the 2016s since any on the lot were always sold.
even before I bought my 2017 took me forever to finally get a test drive on a TRD OR.

Test drive the fucking truck before you buy it. Is it just me? It just seems so simple. I can't take this shit anymore.

OP you have to remember that this forum is probably 30% of Tacoma owners. People always look for forums to ask questions that are usually, "something wrong". Most people don't join a forum for the hell of it and to say how much they love something. A lot of people love the 3rd gen, including myself.

Really like my 2nd gen but it is true, they suck some gas. It's a shame, should be better than it is (16/20). :pout:Does bother me that several full size configurations do better. Overall happy none the less.

Here's my take on 2016 3rd gen*; which replaced my 2007 2nd gen; which replaced my 2003 1st gen–and this forum. Toyota markets these trucks for those born after 1980. Which is the Millennial Generation. Keep that in mind when you read such things as, "this transmission has too many gears," or "I'd rip that service tech a new one!"

*My 2016 is the better of my two older Tacos. Great rig. (Granted, I waited until the end of the first-year build run.)

If you've got specific questions, this place can be a good resource to search. It's also Trollsville.

The only thing that could make this thread better is more debate about mpg. Has anyone brought that up yet?

one of the guys I worked with for a while said
'they're great trucks but they get the same mileage as a v8, if I didn't care for reliability I would've just bought a v8 and I'd have all the power to spare that my v6 doesn't have'

    which is pretty accurate lol.
one of the previous companies I worked for had the 2nd as a service truck that I got to drive sometimes instead of the shitty cargo vans all electrical companies usually use lol. It was a nice truck. But the other thing that sold me on the 3rd gen was an updated interior. The 2nd gen was too dated for my taste.

lol, third gen. Have some sense and buy a 2nd gen, and you won't have to read shit threads like this. And our trucks actually leave the pavement.

It would certainly help look past the lack of power if the mpg were better.
