LMAO She’s actually contemplating it this past week. She’s more leaning to being all natural though :notsure:

Keep the truck and keep the girl.

Best way to survive for a long time is to split some of your finances. Keep your individual accounts and establish a house account for joint expenses. Agree on what joint expenses are/aren't and figure out what % of your combined incomes is needed to cover those joint expenses, include some vacations and savings money. Payday comes around and you each deposit that % in the joint account and the rest is yours. We are around 60% each into the joint account and never fight about money since its already agreed to.

The fun part is figuring out what a shared expense is. The best way is to think about if you want to ask 'permission' to spend the money. Mortgage = shared, easy. Electric/gas/internet/bills = shared, easy. Groceries = shared, easy. Car purchase/payment = not share in our house. Mine is paid off and she doesn't want to ask my permission to upgrade her car which she does way to often. I don't want to discuss my truck parts, guns or watches either so that's fine with me. If you're like me, you make more, so I still treat some dinners out, try to buy better gifts and pay for small things on the side to make sure that she still feels a little spoiled.

If you are going to go long term I can't recommend it enough. People don't feel like themselves unless they can control some of their own money. Best thing we ever did.

Good luck with the girl, and the truck.

We have our own accounts and have a joint one for pooling and transferring. She can see my individual account and I can see hers, but we cant touch each other’s individual account (it’s limited/monitoring only).

The reason why I pay 70% is cause almost everything is under my name: two vehicles, a couple of houses, and even the dogs.
While we been together for a while, we are not married so I don’t see the need for her to pay for some of my stuff until we are.

@ZekeR7 you have me rolling over here. My wife gave me the talk because I put on a RLD Cap, Front Runner rack, Bed stiffeners, Icon Stage 4 and RXT leafs. Not to mention the odds and ends like hardware, tools, insulation and the road shower I made.

I bought my truck at the end of January....

It always works out in the end though.

Well there's your problem. You gotta think ahead. Last night the GF showed me a screencap of a $200 vintage dress that was on etsy or somesuch website. Instead of saying thats a rediculous amount of moneys for a piece of used fabric when you already filled an entire guest bedroom with dresses Ive never seen you wear, I suppressed that urge. I said "cool, thats a cute dress." She bought it guilt free, and I just earned a free pass for the Meso shit, the subaru tweeters, the kayak, and the $200 heated bidet thats getting delivered tonight... :drevil:

That’s just a fantastic point. Is there a my Tacoma outlasted my marriage thread. Or a My Tacoma is my longest relationship thread?
