I do. It just feels there's distance there that wasn't before. The slopes need to understand that it's not me or them.

We don't like taking pictures in general unless it's sceneries. I got something better than bikini pics, just don't get too excited:

The only ones that made out in my parents divorce were the attorneys. They were all about immature revenge and rage though. They preferred to see each other's houses burn no matter the cost. Its super weird seeing all the nice furniture and artwork from my childhood home decorating some of the law offices downtown.

My divorce was easy. I didnt even bother getting my own lawyer. It was respectful and fair. We walked around the house and had a polite discussion on who wanted what. We then had the house appraised and I gave her half of that value. We bought it together, it was only right to split it 5050. Finalized less than one year after filing. I mean, I was still furious about the cheating and stuff, but trying to get vengeance during the breakup is about the dumbest move you can make.

My divorce was also relatively easy. I didn’t hire an attorney and we filed a dissolution which meant we had to agree on everything before the court would make it a divorce decree. It took about a year and a half, but the shared parenting agreement and the two houses (one is a rental) made things a bit more complicated. Now I just need the pandemic to subside so both those houses can be sold...

Money issues are good to get figured out really early in a relationship. If you bitched about her phone case and spend 6 grand in truck shit, sounds like you have the problem not her?

I'm voting truck here, even though this just seems like a fuck around thing, here's my two cents

If you guys can't communicate and agree on money and where it's spent mutually, that's not great. If your money is separate and you're spending your own and she's still upset, big red flags right there.
Much easier to break it off when you see red flags than try to make shit work after being legally bound by expensive paper and credit wrecking divorces. Also, you can't compare a photo of a woman to a truck man, that's a truck, doesn't matter how pretty of a woman she is, the truck isn't gonna say no to anything you do, lol.

Joking aside, @Slashaar and I have a set dynamic, and I'm kinda who designates where money goes, but I wouldn't say I have ultimate power, especially since he's the bread winner. I feel like communication is mutual respect in all regards, but expenditure is a lifestyle thing, and if you're looking to live two different lifestyles then that could say something about compatibility as a whole.

Finances are a main cause of spousal strain, so really if we had disagreed moderately on our dynamic or purchases, I don't think I would have gotten married, just out of fear that we would eventually piss each other off, haha. some people make it work, but I don't like the stress, and I'm not a fighter.

I'll be honest, I didn't want a truck at first. I wanted a Tacoma conceptually, but I thought it would be smarter to get him a commuter with good mpg, something cheaper, etc. But, he really wanted to get out of a car and into a truck, and we weighed options. Ultimately, it would be him making payments, it was his money, and we could afford it, so I wasn't going to fight it, it was just my two cents at the time that we should get another car. I wasn't too hard to sway, but then he wanted off-road shit, and I was like hell no, this is a daily we don't want to mess it up, and really resisted the idea. Then he did something very smart: He got me to like off-roading. Not only that, but we took classes, and have never banged it up badly, so I'm pretty comfortable with the idea. Now, it's easier to convince me to get parts, as long as we're in the financial position.

    He knows, haha.

Since we're chiming in with opinions, here's mine.

My truck has been problem free for the past 4 years and will not leave my possession until it or I kick the bucket.

All of my relationships have been great and have ended peacefully, no matter the duration. I hold nothing against any of them and they were healthy with open communication and understanding, unless it was with who gets the last taco/wing/beer, then there were debates. Sometimes you just realize the two of you want different things.

My vote is for a jar of almonds

Man... maybe I need to add “relationship/marriage
Appreciate the advice It's nothing too serious. The poll was added on later as a joke with some of the other replies swapping the thread topic to see which one people would choose. Honestly, we do our own thing when it comes to money. Fortunately for both of us, we don't need to rely on each other. If she ups and leave, I can pay for everything and still have money to spend on the truck and whatever I want and the same with her, if I am out of the picture she doesn't need help financially wise. So money is not really an issue.

Like how I replied to someone else; we didn't really get mad at each other for spending the money. Our conversation started turning into a spat on which purchases were more important and which ones were useless. I guess it was my fault for saying that buying a phone case made of rocks was stupid because I can go out to the back and grab some rocks which started the whole thing. We both are hard-headed, but been together for 6 years, been living together for 4 years, and finally engaged last year as we were both busy with work and didn't see the point of marriage at the time since we are still young (both of us are work-a-holics).

Feel kinda bad I started this thread as some are digging deep and bringing in horror stories.

Sounds like you guys have it figured out for the most part. It has definitely taken an interesting turn, that's for sure.

 definitely an interesting turn. Went from poking fun at the situation to choosing which one, then horror stories, finally divorce lawyers and what to do when that time comes lol.

As long as you guys are both aware that you're fights aren't too serious. I feel like if my husband and I ever disagree, we try to make sure no one's suppressing any feelings. If you disagree and it gets kinda gnarly, that doesn't mean things can't come to a clean, fair conclusion if that's the way you are. As long as both parties are aware of each other's personalities and do check up and make sure things weren't too deep, every relationship is completely different.

For instance, my step mother is a yeller. she yells about everything, and says things she doesn't mean a lot, just triggered by general anger built up over the day I guess, and my dad is really understanding of that, so once she calms down she cleans up her mess, and they have one of the must sturdy relationships I've ever seen. They're obsessed with eachother, which is weird because i've maybe heard him yell once, but they understand eachother well nonetheless. I couldn't do it myself, lol. I fucking hate yelling.

Oh ya, definitely keep feelings transparent. We like to go on drives when we need to hash things out. Kinda puts us in a spot where we can't just storm off without saying our side of things. Of course, we don't do it if one of us is too heated, but that rarely happens as we always hash everything out on the spot. She is also very blunt compared to how I am. So if she feels like something is off, she will confront it.

All in good fun really. I didn’t mean to go too deep. My divorce was not at all caused by the truck or money, this thread just triggered some feelings. Eww, what are those? :anonymous:

And for real, listen to @gasparic104 , she clearly knows her sh*t and well, because, women are always right. Even when we don’t want to believe it.

The poll wasn't until the picture where she was brunette was posted. Thread evolved as time went on. Pretty interesting lol.
