Picked up 5 of these 4R Trail Edition wheels for $400. A few scratches, but over all great condition. I’m debating whether or not to powder coat them gunmetal, black, or leave them be. Any suggestions?

Had the day off from work so I took advantage of the opportunity. I threw on @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc bumps this afternoon. Quick 15 minute job. I was able to get the stock ones off with a pipe wrench while the truck was on the ground. However, I didn't have enough room to get the new ones on without having the truck jacked and letting the wheels droop. I was going to also install the Ubolt flip, but realized I didn't have the right size of deep socket or wrench to remove the stock Ubolts.

How long did it take installing the Icons?

I had a buddy of mine who's a former Toyota mechanic do it for me. He normally does 4Runners and not many Tacomas. I think the entire thing took about 7 hours. However, I had him also disassemble my leaf pack and use an add-a-leaf and that adds time.

I just finished installing N2 Design's remote start setup. Install wasn't too bad. I did a little write up/review here.

I would say that either gunmetal or black would look good.

Yeah I was leaning toward Gunmetal. Thanks for the suggestion.

The CMC is done, the tires have been mounted, and now everything is on the truck! The CMC work was done by Hefty Fabworks. Still not sure if I want to change the wheel color. I'll need to do a little bit more trimming on the back side of the front fender flares to address some rubbing when stuffing. See the bottom of the post for close ups of the fit.

Part that will need to be trimmed just a little bit more.

Rainbow Falls OHV and Little Moab Trip 5/4/2019

This was an early morning run up to the Rainbow Falls OHV area north of Woodland Park, CO. I went with my brother in law, his nephew, and one of my brother in law's coworkers. The weather was perfect and the trail was dry. The truck performed great! Big thanks to my brother in law and his nephew for inviting me.

Not much to update. I’ve got a few mods sitting in the garage waiting for me to finally come up with some free time. I did sell the stock wheels and tires tow guy who put them on his t100.
