    Yup.

I can certainly go farther with BFG AT KO's than I can with the stock Dunlops. I haven't tried it yet, but I bet I couldn't get out of the driveway with a 2-foot snowplow ridge built up with the stock Dunlops. I wouldn't even worry about it with AT KO's, I'd just bang right through it.

Was there any ice packed down under the snow? That's what I'm facing.

My new 2013 Tacoma has absolutely no problems with the 9" of snow we got Wednesday night. My employer was one of a few that chose NOT to take a snow day so I had to go to work Thursday morning instead of getting to play. The wife got to stay home though. According to my director, Pikes Peak could become an erupting volcano and Peak Vista would stay open.

Ha! Me too. I had to back up to the D&D drive-thru yesterday b/c it follows a sharp corner and my front wheels wouldn't grab, so I wasn't close enough. I haven't had to go out in serious snow yet, but it's handled what it's seen like a champ. Drive-thrus notwithstanding of course.

I beg to differ. Much easier to get snap oversteer on a turn without traction control/autolsd. Technology has evolved to a point where the car's electronics sense a loss of traction faster than you can and makes adjustments much faster than you can react. I feel much safer with traction control on in the snow, especially in 2wd.

Got tired or reading thru all the responses. The Tacomas are exteamly capable in the snow. With a good set of tires ( I run studded winter tires) and experience driving in winter conditions you can get almost anywhere. I put weight in the back of my truck the first winter I had it, but now just leave it empty. I have been driving in winter conditions for over half my lifetime and i can say the Tacoma is by far the best vehicle I have driven in the winter.

Agreed. With the traction control on I've gone out on ice as well as about 6" of snow and tried to swing the back end out and lose control around corners. Traction control just takes over and I make a nice turn.

Been in some crappy situations in the snow with my taco and its got me out of everything, granted if I did not have a rear diff lock that would be a diff story.

^X2. I had to engage my rear locker on a highway onramp earlier this month. The highway was plowed, but they didn't cut an opening for the onramp, so I had to drive over the snow bank.

Thanks for taking the time to post the video. A couple of comments about it though:

1- When you turned on traction control in 2wd, you actually didn't have AutoLSD on. Would have been better if you turned AutoLSD on (pressing the VSC button instead of holding it) to show it's capability since AutoLSD does NOT limit the engine throttle.

2- When you turned on traction control in 2wd and gave it gas, the dashboard was only blinking. No beeps or anything. I also saw that you weren't giving it much throttle. Typically when I only get blinking and no beeps the traction control isn't doing much. It's when you hear noises (beeps and/or grinding) that it's REALLY doing something.

What I stated above is one of the reasons why you weren't going anywhere in 2wd on that hill.

    I 2nd what he said.

While in 2wd you could have hit the button 1 time (NOT HOLDING THE BUTTON) and it would have given you a stronger LSD with out engine regulation.

Agreed. I leave mine off especially for higher speed driving. I turn it off for play time though:D
