Switched out the pads and rotors. went for a test drive and everything seems to be working just fine. however the brake pedal feels like it's compressed halfway from where it was before. Any ideas of what would cause this?

Bleed the lines? Add fluid? There's a way to adjust the pedal height, isn't there? (@Shellshock )

If you just swapped rotors and pads I wouldn’t think that would be an issue but never know. Guess it would be possible fluid was low and have air in the lines?

Fluid looked fine and didn't touch the lines. Had no clue about adjustments to the pedal. How would I mess with that?

I wouldn’t adjust the pedal. That shouldn’t change from doing pads. There’s gotta be something else going on

did you just do the fronts or do the drums too?

@VangaSTL might need to figure out a time to swap wheels soon if you really want them. I think I’m selling mine to carvana

Bah, wtf. Got to vent a minute.
Leaving for a trip tomorrow. Fairway auto didn't have time to get me in for a quick rotation and alignment. I drove to a tire shop about a block away from my house yesterday and they said yah, we'll rotate the tires and do an alignment. Scheduled the job for today.
Get there today. different person. Says, no way we'll align that thing. We won't touch lifted trucks. no way to get them in spec, etc. I tried talking to them, it's not a cheap lift kit. It's aftermarket suspension and control arms, and has the full range of adjustment, but still, they said no.
Fine, just rotate the tires.. I leave. And now they called and cannot get the wheels off. I have splined lugs, and the tool is apparently not in the truck. I had them look everywhere. And I don't otherwise have it. So, that's not really their fault. BUT, I just looked it up, and apparently you can get splined lugs off w/ regular sockets. These are 'positive' splines.. They stick out, rather than being recessed. And I just watched 3 videos where people simply choose a socket that fits around them and use it. so.. WTF again.. Can't a tire shop figure this stuff out?!??

oh well. None of the work was absolutely necessary.. Tires definitely need rotating as the rears are more worn, but they'll survive the trip.

Tough break man. One of a million reasons why some of us bust balls at shops until we find a good one. Then it's flies on honey.

I take mine to Firestone. I got the lifetime alignment and I let them know about the adjustable uppers and what caster numbers I'm shooting for. They handle it fine after that.
