I'd say about 3.5 hours. A lot of it depends on how easily the cv axle comes out

Came back into town last night to do taxes and got the springs disassembled and ready for cleanup. Gonna have St. Louis spring remove the old bushings and do some new retainers for me.

 

I'm really thinking hard if i want to buy some dakars for this

 

I'll wait to do the bearing until then, honestly I'd love to have the extra hands and knowledge if you all don't mind.

make sure to also have a replacement seal and 1 - 2 quarts of gear oil to top off the differential, you will lose some fluid during the process

 

Maybe a couple replacement seals in case you go ham on it. Right @sonic77?

 

I'll order 'em up in a day or 2, gonna be hard to keep my hands off it until the 22nd

 

OK so i just bought:
OME carrier bearing drop
OME u bolts
Energy Suspension leaf spring bushings kit

I've already completed:
ECGS bushing
Bilstein shocks
extended brake lines

All that's left to purchase is the dakar leaf springs. Unless there is something I'm missing. Probably won't get around to it this mod day because I'm waiting for a bonus to go through before I make my purchase but hopefully next mod day I should have everything. Am i missing anything?

 

Sounds like you're all set. All you need is
You may or may not need the CB drop. I got one too but will measure the u-joint angles after it's lifted. Depending upon what they are i/you might need shims. It won't be bad to wait, just possible take off vibrations till it's addressed. I might be doing mine tomorrow around 1 pm. I have my replacement rear 3rd member coming in tomorrow too. The Dakars are in the process of getting an update to them but it's the same part number and you won't know till you get them which ones you have. Some people complained about squeaking so I got leaf liners to take care of it now. I probably would never take them off again so now is the best time.

It Looks fine to me Bahahaha I mean we saved 12.00 shipping by ordering 4 at a time, driving 300 miles was nothing compared to how much it cost to stop the leak lol don't ask $$
I don't care it's fixed and installed right now I'm not blaming anyone but myself I still learned something and had a great time with everyone!
I prob left a trail of oil all the way home haha

 

There has been enough complaints with squeaking that they are changing the design. Extra pads and they no longer come with a front bushing.

 

What's your source and when is the redesign supposed to take place?

 

Some people were talking about is since January on TW and Maria at HS when I bought my stuff.

 

So are the springs you bouget the updated version?
