40+ cars flooded on our property last night, fire dept evacuated every building to do safety checks (exposed wires in standing water, gas lines etc) after three buildings had water break through basement windows and completely trash lower floors.

Seen multiple floods here before, but never like this. Gona grab some stills from the videos and get the pics up here.

Lucky for me, I'm on the second floor and after two hours were able to return to my apartment with my daughter. Our building did not have torrents of water in the basement, so we are good to go.

 

That Fiesta ended getting swept out by rising water later. Came up to the tires of Puddle Jumper. Royally fucked up that lawn in the morning getting me and 8 other high ground seekers out.



Civic got out, the black car couldn't start by the time they tried. Rip. Water came up nearly to the tires of the Silver Truck once it was parked here.

These are split level buildings. Three total had water break through windows and destroy the basement/first floor. 40 cars on property counted destroyed as of this morning.

*Someone* called the County Health Department to do building inspections and to keep an eye on the shady ass management here for their supposed "cleanup" efforts. They've got a real nice track record of open sewage repairs with no warnings or notices and such.

All in all, hell of a night. Thankfully I'm on the second floor and my building was not one with water in it, so we were let back in after 2 hours in the rain.

Big ask time.

My mother passed and she was staying in an assisted living center. We need to get all of her stuff out before the end of the month. My Tacoma is down for multiple reasons and I’m hoping to get some help from the gang. The place is close to the county fairgrounds in Belleville and about 15 from my house.

this weekend would be ideal but I understand that it’s a last minute request.

 

Got a wedding to go to Saturday.

I should* have time Friday, if any part of that day works, let me know and I'll get one of the vehicles ready. Also have a small trailer if needed

 

That would be great, I’m at her place now trying to get stuff out of the way so it’s easy to load the furniture that she has here.

 

I've got a commitment in the evening, but should be able to do at least one solid load

 

Half of nothing is nothing.

 

I could give a hand Saturday. Don't know if I'm working for sure but I can grab my dad's truck and your trailer and we can get a lot of it out. I also know which center you're talking about. My grandma was there until she passed. They did a terrible job taking care of her the first week or so she was there until some words were said

 

I reckon the level of care is still the same as we were there constantly taking care of her.

 

They didn't check on her for an entire night and she was laying in her own excrement
