    We pretty stoked about this one! We just got back to Fort Leonard Wood about 20 minutes ago, took the 2 hour drive up there after work to take a look at it, ended up leaving with it. My wife feels the same way, loves the rig, huge step up from her FWD 2012 Honda Pilot EX-L w/RES.

    Sorry to hear about that. Our buying experience was not ideal, nor was it the most pleasant. But at the end of the day I got my main squeeze, the ride she wanted, at the price I wanted.

    I agree @G.T., that woman runs the house while I'm away wherever I'm told to go. She can have her 4Runner.

    I have a question for you guys who do a lot off-roading. Did you guys buy your rig new, and if you did, how long before you started really getting serious with taking it off road?

    I'd really like to get into it, but people keep telling me I'd be stupid to until I at least have it paid for.(or mostly paid for). Just was wondering how you guys do it/did it.

    Check my build thread...too much to list.
    I waited till 5k miles, technically bought my truck used at 282 miles. Of course I didn't go out and scale rock faces with it. Just like skiing there are different levels of trails you can hit up. At first I was satisfied with hitting up dirt and getting off the beaten path nothing extreme. Life is an adventure and my Tacoma is part of making it fun. Now if you want to go full blown crawler/mudder/overland, yes there are cheaper options. In the end it's all up to what your wallet can handle.

    :rofl::rofl:
    I went to Bommarito toyota(primarily to go through a salesman friend).
    They kept going on and on about how much they hated jay wolff and that they'd beat any price jay wolff gave me.
    I gave them the price jay wolff quoted me with the trade in of my old car on that price, $3k, and they took it. Great way to get a good price.

    Bought mine new. Waited a year before I did serious wheeling. I did previous trails before like Lost Creek Rd but your not going to do any damage on Lost Creek. My advice is ease into it. The Stocker no Locker event that MO4WD hosts every year is an ideal way to ease into the wheeling scene. To gain confidence in your ride and meet new people.

    I didn't realize there were so many places close by here in Missouri to go off-roading. I knew about St Joes, I've heard that place isn't as fun as it used to be.

    Have any of you ever made it down here to Custom Differential's Mud Bashes when they used to have them all the time? They had a couple a year, always had one on New Years Day. There were some pretty wicked rigs around for those. They shut them down now, they can't get insurance(or it's way too high) for them anymore.

    I'd like to get into off-roading, but I don't want to rush into it either. I don't want to put any major mods on, that I'll regret doing later.

    Starting to thinks it's time to take a cruise out to Warrenton and check out Lost Creek again. For those that are bone stock or are looking to expose reluctant family members this one is ideal as it's literally just an unimproved road with lots of beautiful views. Couple of safe places to pull over to play in some water holes as well.

    How does Saturday, October 7th sound to everyone?

    I don't know about that mud bash, but there's always Buchanan's Mud Fest if you want to tear up your rig.

    all about the smiles

    edit: the truck will only get beat up if you make the decision to let it happen. i just dont care about it being pretty and have more fun doing harder obstacles.
