Ouch. Hope it's just some kind of sprain and not an acl tear.

ER doc said it’s a sprain thankfully. Highly unlikely I’ll be able to wheel still but being stubborn I’m gonna rest for the next several days and see.

Thank God. An acl or any break on the leg is not fun to deal with. Rest that sucker. I can drive your truck for You! Haha

Lol, trying not to admit to myself that I’m getting old. Admittedly I’m having a hard time today getting in and out of my wife’s 4Runner so I’m sure the Tacoma would be damn near impossible.

I posted about this in the Dual Battery thread expecting someone to give some input but no luck... You guys are a little closer to home and seem to be a helpful bunch so maybe you all have some thoughts.

I have access to 12v UPS batteries, small (motorcycle sized) sealed led acid 12v deep cycle batteries. I am trying to figure out if I could use them in my truck safely and if the effort would be worth it. If I did use them I was thinking of using a DC-DC charger and build a battery bank. Then run a fridge or a few accessories like a HAM, CB radio or camp lights off them. It would be cool if they will run some bigger things like a winch or for self jump starting but that may be asking a lot. The connections on the batteries are kinda small so I don't think it would work for real high amperage things. Any thoughts on what I should watch out for or suggestions? Anybody here ever try building a battery bank out of smaller batteries? It seems pretty strait forward but I may be missing something. Nothing may come of this but I thought it could be a nice winter project or just a way to learn more about electricity.

@G.T. Thinking of making Fort's my new dealer for the free maintenance and what not. Are they decent or just nice for the Giveaways/having a "trail team"?

Nice to me but I’ve never done business with them so can’t comment.

What's the amp rating on the batteries? If you had 4x 12v batteries at 9amps each that's quite a bit of power you could do a lot with. The question is how do you recharge them?

Looks like my wife and I will be heading out to the Stocker no Locker event on Sunday. For all who have been to the event in the past, do you think the wife's T4R on the stock tires will be fine? Thanks

Wired up some Klipsh speakers in the garage so I don't get as bored when cleaning or modding the truck. I'm beyond excited. :headbang:

The batteries are 12v 7.2AH Sealed AGM (MAX Discharge rate: 130A for 5 seconds) I'd still be uncomfortable drawing more then about 10A per battery, too much heat generation. Even at 10A/battery they'll only last about 15 minutes before the voltage drops off too much.

Recharging them with a smart DC to DC charger like this would be my first choice: https://www.australiandirect.com.au...connect-dc-dc-mppt-solar-battery-c/IDC25ANDBA However, that company is in AU and doesn't ship to the US. So I will have to do some hunting...
