Automatic Disconnecting Differential. Because the Tacoma uses an electric switch to activate the front diff the ECU needs to see a positive signal to allow the system to activate.

still no luck on my CVs. I got ahold of total chaos since they more than likely do this kind of thing often. i followed the instructions they were so kind to send me. Got the joint completely disassembled. but i can't get the bit of left over shaft out. That snap ring should have broken by now. does anybody have at least a 20 ton press? A friend of mine has a press but I'm not sure what its rated at and it wasn't budging.

Heres the instructions they sent if anybody is wanting to look.

Can you drill and tap the broken piece so you can thread an eye bolt or something into it?

For sure, I’ll be buying a dpdt momentary switch Wyatt recommends. Either that or depending on my patience level I’ll delete the add altogether with an awd FJ/runner axle tube

I’ll be unplugging the 4x4 ecu, once you wire/delete the add independently it’s no longer needed

I don’t think so at this point, if I ever have feel the need I’ll address it down the road. I’m really just looking to remove all electronics from the drivetrain for simplicity. I’ll be looking into manual hub kits in the nearish future.

Anyone here have the grey 2nd gen that was rear-ended tonight by a BMW on the 170. Looks like your truck should be okay.

Hmm the only grey 2nd gen I know of is @ChandlerDOOM but I don't think he even drives it anymore. He drives a big boy truck these days
