He never complained once. I asked how he was doing a few time and he of course said that he was hot but he never outright complained. Poured allot of water on his head and down his neck through the day and annoyed him a little by putting water bottles in his face.

Den Leader who we haven’t interacted with until today - Air Force Colonel - asked me if my son was mute. Said he never heard him complain once, told him that I taught my son years ago that complaining about it never makes it better.

Hoping an army family PCSs to Scott soon so we can push some of the cubicle warriors out of the way. Y’all infantry types think the Lt don’t know, get a bunch of Air Force officers, they will practically make you lose your mind. “We are going... wait.” Okay everyone, get ready... oh, never mind.” “Let’s all stop here in the open so we can check google maps instead of taking ten more paces to the shade...”

All in all we still had fun and my son got a big kick out of reading the stones to learn the names, ranks, branch, theater of war, and dates. Lot of WWII stones in our section today. I think it helped solidify how much I’ve stressed to him that national cemeteries are sacred places.

Me and a lady friend are driving across country this August as she’s moving to California. We plan on camping as much as we can during the drive. St. Louis area looks like it will be our first stop. Does anyone have any good camping recommendations in Shawnee or Mark Twain? Or any other campgrounds near by? We’ll be in her car (hatchback) so anything that’s accessible via fire road would be perfect.

Anybody know if you can use the DC outlets for an old cig lighter? Being a smoker and usually driving with the windows down, it’s annoying trying to light a bic.

I’ve tried a couple different lighters, usually there’s too much play or it won’t stick down. Is my best option switching the outlet for a true cigarette lighter?

    Yeah.
Council Bluff Lake in the middle of Mark Twain has a good campground, no fire roads required. Kind of remote and out of the way, though.

I won't make that mod day. I am thinking about possibly hitting up some trails the weekend of the 9th. It isn't a for sure thing, just a thought. I still haven't had time to take my taco since I've built it. something always comes up.

I’d grab one from a local pick-and-pull and swap it out.

You might even find a 2nd gen owner that will trade with you as ours still came with lighters.

So are you living around stl? Come to one of g.t.'s mod days. Need another chick to break up the sausage fest every once in a while.

I vote Mark Twain. Check out the Missouri state park site. Theres plenty of cool places to check out along your route

About how long out of the way is it?

Thanks for the recommendation. Mark Twain is a little closer for us so that should work out nicely, we'll be doing VA Beach to Missouri in one day so the closer the better, even if it is just an hour or two
