Hey all, been listening to the truck the past few days due to a random creaking sound during points of articulation. Initially, I chalked this up the the balls in the TC UCA’s but kept an ear out. I hit the balls with some dry lube yesterday, but listened while to and from work today, creaking still present...so, I went into investigative mode. Here’s what I’ve found. When we put the UCA’s on at mod day, we reused on of the factory washers on each side, which appear to be directional to me. When the factory washers got put on, on the inside of the hinge unfortunately, it looks to me that the washer on the driver side made its way in backwards while I was sending the bolt through. See below, driver side pictures first...My question, for those in the know, is this something I should fix ASAP, or would I be fine with standard over the road travel for a few hundred miles? I suspect the biggest issue here would be not being able to hold grease at the bushings causing premature wear?

Check my build thread...too much to list.
You’re supposed to go back and torque those things again after some driving anyways once things have settled.

Haha the timing... I just got back to my apartment after pulling a 1/2 ton ram from being stuck on the other side of a curb in a paved parking lot:rofl:

He pulled up on the curb to jump somebody and his driver front fell off the far side. Rear tires were slipping in pine needles so I gave him a tug.

    So. Many. Stickers.

Reminds of a time last year when I had to haul a dead Buick up my street so the rest of us could park. GM reliability and all of that.:cookiemonster:

After seeing that picture more, either was welding in wind OR they have never used flux core infused wire before .
