    Trip to the lake stuff...

Finally back home and checking out the front window and the online forecast, it looks like rain and thunderstorms on and off all weekend which kinda blows but ins't a total deal breaker for us. However, just found out that I'm on a plane again first thing Sunday morning which means I can camp Friday night but wouldn't be able to spend the night Saturday.

With all of that said if the people that have spoken up about attending decide that it would be beneficial to try for a different weekend I would understand but I can't be certain when I could organize something due to an increasingly hectic schedule. Please reply with your intentions.

On site and the weather is definitely better now. Getting setup late as I got ambushed with some work before I left the house. See you guys soon.

anyone know the light laws for our area? Thinking of putting white LEDs in the grill to run with my brights and Amber led strips in the headlights. Also if anyone wanted to help a brother out that'd be cool too lol

Was great meeting you and your son. We escaped without rain last night and that made for a good camp.

What's the name of the BBQ table you had? I will be getting one of those.

Talked to my son on the phone twice and he keeps telling me that he wants to go camping with your son again as soon as possible. I think throwing the rocks into the water together sealed the deal for him. I wish we could have stayed longer and hopefully we can sort something out again with more agreeable temperatures.

I spoke with a friend that collects hand made wooden canoes and asked what he uses to move them around and he said he has the best results with pool noodles and nylon ratchet straps. Who knew?

The BBQ table is part of a rabbit hole that many never recover from. It's a Snow Peak iron grill four unit frame table with their tallest legs for the frame, a set of height adjusters which allow for the connection of a pair of the long table extensions that sit on the next size down legs to fit our lawn chairs perfectly.

The BBQ unit itself is the single BBQ box which can be used with the IGT frame or alone without it. For heating pots and pans we use the Baja burner which can be used with the frame or alone as well. It's a real powerhouse and at or near sea level is overkill to say the least. Wife calls it her "little volcano."

I keep both in a 1550 Pelican case along with a small bag of briquettes inside the BBQ box and a couple of fuel canisters on top of the burner plate, as well as a couple of lighters, and other odds and ends underneath the burner plate. Worst case scenario everything I need to cook is inside that box.

By now you've noticed that many of the listed Snow Peak items are in "sold out" status as while they are expensive, they are very nice and in high demand for many. If you are in a "must have now" mode you can check with John Lee at Expedition Exchange to see what he has in stock as he has been a reliable source for quite a bit of Snow Peak gear for us in the past.

Here is a search string for the type of "hook and loop cable ties" that I use to hang up cord and stuff in the camper shell that I showed you.

    Sorry I missed you guys.

Ever camp down at Council Bluff near Potosi? We sometimes do a day trip to ride the trail around the lake, but it's more fun to camp and ride it twice. There's a 12-hour race in October, we head down the night before and camp 2 nights. They have a beach and great facilities.

I haven't and it sounds cool to me. Just had arm surgery today so I'm going to be off the "runnin' and jumpin" list for a few days. But October sounds like a good time for us if we are still living in the area.

Thanks, looking forward to being able to wheel again. Been in the Florida keys for a couple years and not able to really do much.

Cool, I need people to hang out with, talk trucks and go wheeling. Been pretty lucky with making TW friends at the last two bases I've been stationed at.

Thanks, I'm good for tonight. Just waiting for my buddy to finish work. We'll have to have a meet or something with everyone around here so I can make some new TW friends.
