do you guys ever do any 'minor' body work on your mod days?

i got to hand washing mine yesterday (which I have not done in a long time, usually just use the touchless carwash)
good opportunity to check everything over, new rock chips, etc. and how bad the scratches are


then I located a number of small crusty rusty parts starting to develop that I need to get treated & stopped
there is a Toyota bodyshop 50 miles away in Lincoln that I am just curious what they might have to say about it and what to do...

probably best to do it myself so i know its done right but not sure where to start other than removing stuff in the wheel wells

 

We do body work....

We take care of rust too...

 

its 'very minor' .. i know how midwest trucks get if not appropriately taken care of in certain spots and have tried laboriously to prevent it (but not hard enough i guess)
i have small chips behind rear mudguards, the rockers were chip protected filmed when I got it but never realized the back area did not also have it
and edge spots where the trim moldings/splash guards attach to the metal in the inner wheel wells

below is an old taco a local 2nd gen recently found parked in the wild near me
if i see this on the streets i might have to flag them down lol

 

Most minor stuff like that can be taken care of with combination of various grits and grades of sanding and flapdisks, followed by paint etc.

 

@mcharfauros has me interested in a soft topper now...

i know for fact some are ignoring me they just could not handle it apparently

they are somewhere in Arkansas or southern Missouri right now on a road trip (I think)

Just unsubscribe and then subscribe to the thread again, happens every once and awhile.

Been terribly ill since Friday night. Can’t wait for this to run its course as I’m miserable.
