I just got home from a vacation on the big island of Hawaii and I saw so many tacos there I figured that they give them away with each full up and a car wash. Most were Gen 3’s (lots of 16’s and 17’s), some Gen 2’s but a lot less and just a few Gen 4’s. Also, showing the excellent taste of the islanders, I saw more quicksand tacos than you could shake a stick at! I felt right at home.

Aside from rental Mustangs and Wranglers the most common vehicles you will see on the islands are third generation Tacos and fifth generation 4Runners.

They even have their own custom factory color that’s only available from Hawaiian dealerships.

    Mahalo.

Apparently, you see plenty snow your location. No need to drive Mauna Kea in winter months on Hawaii Island.

Saw a lost of Jeeps too, one burnt to a crisp on Hwy 19 just north of the airport, luckily the driver pulled over and got out before it was totally engulfed in flames, when we drove past the firemen had just put it out.

By far the most popular truck in Hawaii. :)

    My son has a 2022.

I have a 2018 I got last month because a visitor to our island plowed into my 2002 first gen Tacoma. :(

I lived with my daughter in Kauai and I always told her when I was teaching her to drive “be nice, you will see that same person a couple more times today.”

Just home from visiting family on the "Valley Isle" and seemed as though the Taco population had indeed grown, and a fair number of 4th Gens also. Also never seen so many personally owned full size domestic trucks. A bunch of great mods on those trucks too, fun to check em out.

Nice, my wife and I are headed back there at the end of summer. Probably going to go back to the volcanoes national park for a day. Really beautiful place.

Really didn’t see that behavior on this trip, we circled the big island and for the most part people were staying with the speed limit (although the speed limits are what can only be called neurotic, 45, then a mile down the road 55, then back to 45, then 35, etc).

    It is indeed, aloha.

And Auntie Linda's cinnamon rolls at Papi's not too shabby either.

Gotta get stick donut and malasadas from Komoda's bakery next time you're here on Maui.
