nada....maybe a license plate one day & BA bumpers
maybe I should get oem replacements....probably mega bucks?
or I will try a heavier grit buff on them next time to see if I can get below the scuff layer
(just worried I will make them worse)...they arent too bad, but compared to brand new headlamp assemblies they look tossed

Got back into construction and remodeling last fall and have been putting my truck to work. Sometimes I wish it was bigger and as the company I work for grows I feel myself wanting a full size truck...but the Tacoma keeps working and I feel like I would regret getting rid of the Tacoma. Talk me out of a full size!

The backseat has become my tool storage, with everything needed to do framing, drywall, painting, electrical, and more:

Some really good information in this thread. It's a bit long, but I think all of your questions will be answered.

As for taking another crack at buffing your current lenses, I can offer some advice based on tons of personal experience in automotive detailing. The reason your lenses oxidize again so quickly after sanding / buffing them out is that most of the UV resistance in the OEM lenses is in the outer layer. When you buff, you remove it, so there's no protection at all. Unless you replace the UV protection, your lenses will re-oxidize pretty quickly. Meguiar's makes a clear coating that seems to work reasonably well. It's not as good as the OEM layer, but it will extend the life of your lenses.

    Hope that helps.

I recently discovered how to adjust the side-to-side & pitch (up and down) of my headlights. Pretty cool, considering I had the truck for 12 years before I knew I could do that, haha.

Comes in handy to be able to lower the stricking points of the headlights after a lift, rather than have the lights just spraying off into the darkness at night or super early in the mornings when I head off to work. Figured I’d share, haha.

Naa, it was just muddy, decomposed sludge from the landfill. I can still smell it every time I get under my truck...

Great minds think alike! And just in case it might help, my favorite product for headlights is Meguiar's M101.

BTW, if you ever want to get rid of that 2006 xB, I might be interested. I'm on my second one and love it!

here is mine bought brand new in 2007 for $15k
(drove it for six months, put 15k miles on it, & sold it for $14.5k...nothing holds value like a toyota)

I wish I still had it...had a lawnmower of a 1.5l motor in it but you could easily get 35mpg & it got up to 90 mph pretty quick

as far as detailing....check out my website-
    www.ChiloquinCarCare.com

you can see lots of before & after pics of my work....I love a clean ride! & your XB looks clean (good job buddy)

Im noticing the gas tank lock as I further examine the pic...interesting
how long is the bed in the vw? Im guessing 6' but it looks almost like 8' in the pic...maybe an optical illusion?

Thank you, I’m a Toyota guy but I love VW’s too.

No fuel door lock on that truck actually, it’s just an access for opening. It’s definitely an illusion, only a 6’ bed. I may also mention this has a 1.6l Diesel engine that averages close to 50mpg

Added are a few pictures for reference. I know this is a Tacoma forum so please excuse the pictures.
