Went to my dads to pick up a load of firewood. It’s all oak from a massive branch that fell last summer in July. Some heavy wood here. Did a before and after shot. Stock suspension. I’m thinking about adding a leaf...

My 2013 Tacoma works harder than most full size trucks. I have no doubts that it will continue to provide me with reliable service for a long time.

I'm adding a leaf to my Tacoma after hauling a lot of oak this winter. Stock springs are meant for a compact car, pathetic. I will be attempting the leaf install this coming week.

That's a good idea. I had two more leafs added to mine by a local spring company and difference is amazing. It brought the rear so high I had to add a 2.25" lift to the front to level it out. Springs on all trucks are far too light today. It seams like trucks are not made to work anymore. They should come out with another trim level... called "Work".

My father came into town to help me bush hog the overgrowth in my backyard, this was 1 of 5 loads we took to the nearest compost.

I wouldn't call this work, more so play. But I took my "new" 2013 SR5 4wd on her maiden voyage to some access and dirt roads along Natchez Trace in middle TN. Several stream crossings and one that had me almost :crapstorm: my pants because it was deeper than I thought and afraid she was gonna swallow water... I guess she didn't because engine has yet to seize lol. I won't make that poor judgement again. Btw these pics are not from the deep water, just a shallow creek crossing.

Side note, aside from the usual underbody inspection is there any special treatment I need after crossing water in my Taco?

I tow on some occasions; most times I use my Tetris skills to fit everything in the bed and back seat. The truck is always ready for anything I need from her! No questions asked

It's amazing what these trucks can do and the abuse they can take.

Where is the trailhead for this offroad route? I love the parkway and would love to go offroad here too.

I head down Natchez Trace Pkwy from Nashville towards Whiteoak. It's not really a "trailhead" so to speak, but a collection of random access roads off the main drag. If you can get to Primm Springs there's several of these roads off Highway 7 (Lick Creek Rd, Primm Springs Rd, Willow Springs road). There's also several along Duck River down there. I spent an afternoon wandering around the area and just dropped some pins on my Google Maps to guide me to some fun places. Be careful though, some are private property and driveways, just use common sense.

Ripped off all four mudflaps. Scratches all down both sides 6112’s up front on 3rd notch 5100’s in back with Toytech 1” block Skids & sliders from SOS Concepts I got rid of the 1” block and put on Wheelers 1 1/2” progressive AAL. SPC UCA. Be sure your standing on the drivers side when reading the instructions! I swapped sides so many times that I can swap UCA’s in 15 minutes. I put in the 3/4” spacer to eliminate the Taco Lean, and just got my 4th alignment. Traded the OEM rims for 17” Sport rims and a bora bora 1” spacer. I got my Firestone 285/70/17 MT2’s. Pelfreybilt gas tank skid and hi-lift jack should be here Friday. Looking at bumpers, but I think they will wait for next year. So far I’m happy with my build. I’ve done it all myself, leading to a lot of cussing and frustration, but it’s all mine.

126 4x12 retaining wall blocks, and lumber for a 10x12 deck, and 1800 lbs of rock for a pond.

I’m thinking of going with airbags. What brand were you using?

Mine were the Firestone airbags. I write “were” because I no longer have them on my truck, haha. Not because they weren’t cuttin’ it, rather because I now have heavy duty Dakar rears, and the two would be a bit redundant. The Firestone’s gave me nearly 10 years of trouble free service.

I should get a ladder rack or trailer, anyways I’m still hauling more lumber than the full size trucks at Home Depot:
