Honestly, your 285 MT's will likely measure out just shy of the 295 AT's.

I've been trying to make smart choices with the truck and decided that 35's would be mostly an aesthetic decision. To clear 35's I'd have to massacre my fenders which in turn makes the tires look small again... Some 35's can look just as small as 285 depending on the fenders. I've realized that it becomes a give or take game of wheel gap which makes or breaks the look. Still, the additional clearance gained with a bigger tire cant be argued with, but I don't need it... yet.

At least that's what I'm telling myself now.... :anonymous:

So after few days post lift install I entered the "what's that new sound?" game.

Normally these are fairly easy to figure out but I must admit, this one has left me utterly baffled.

The sound appears to be coming from under the passenger side rear seat intermittently on acceleration from a stop but more often when making abrupt right hand turns.

It's always the same frequency, pitch, and tone. The only variable is it's duration...

    The sound...

Sure sounds like it but I've since taken everything out of the truck. I keep wanting to blame the ebrake cables doing something weird but each time I check them they're secure like everything else down there. I'm perplexed... If only I had huge tires to blame, I'm still sporting the stockers.

It really sounds like your tires are rubbing on the fender plastic or something is moving. Did it happen right after you put the lift on?

Didn't make a sound until a day after I unloaded 200lbs from the bed, which was a few days ago. So the rear is a tiny bit higher, hmm

have you had someone in the vehicle with you to confirm where the sound is coming from? and the sound isn't just in your head? lol. But seriously, if someone else is in the vehicle, they can crawl around and see if they can identify the source or at least the direction of the sound, being the driver makes it difficult to pinpoint the sound direction as you have to stay in one place.

So I just removed my ebrake chassis hangers thinking I was somehow binding the cable under 'shockless' rear suspension travel.

Went for a drive, still happening... wtf.

Pissed I grabbed a few tools and ripped into the back AC half seats. For one I wanted to know how much space I had under the plastic liners for a potential OBA install location and two, I hoped to find something stupid.

I sadly concluded that there's not enough room for an OBA setup but I did indeed find something stupid! There was a rouge splined lugnut sitting in a rectangular channel under the seat tray. It let the lug roll back and forth in one axis which is why the sound was perfectly consistent.

The spline drive symphony has since been canceled.:sadviolin:

True, just means it's time to get creative. Glad you were right about "something under the seat". Didn't know I had even more room under the tray that I cleaned out. Swore the sound was coming from under the truck, guess this is why I'm a painter, not a sound engineer.

I just couldn't think of anything that could make that sound under the truck, it definitely sounded like something rolling around under it

These stockers haven't stopped me in the past. But first things first I should probably get my shocks on before I hit the trail.

    Currently, I've gone full turtle.
