Dang.. Well if timing works out that would be awesome, Mule is looking like my best bet ATM. Especially if I want to do the removal of the old mounting points etc myself. Being down the street has it's benefits.

Haha tell me about it. I tossed a wrench in the gears and changed the rear suspension route... more waiting. :pccoffee:

Soon! Lookin forward to meet up, this summer is gonna be great.

Maybe to save some $$$ we could just have them weld on the brackets, then limp over to your place and install the shocks ourselves?

Can't see them charging us less to not install the shocks, they'll already be in there and will need to test the tower placement with the shocks anyway. Doing the prep work on the other hand would surely shave some time off the bill. I'll help out, but do know this will be my first time doing this as well so it could easily take us the whole day for one truck haha. I'll do some research and get back to ya.

    Oh true forgot about that..

What prep work? Only thing I can think is just remove the old shock, maybe grind off the old mounts? Hope it comes with instructions, I have to look still.

Night before the install, soak all of your suspension attach points with WD40 or PB Blaster to help losen up any rust or seizing they're might be and let it sit overnight and maybe hit them all again the following morning. Just a tip that worked for me when I installed my lift.

    Looking forward to this build!

You'll have to let us know how you like the KO2's!

I totally understand about taking the WRX where you shouldn't...

The chassis and axle shock mounts will need to be removed/cleaned up. They may be a pain to remove given the cramped space, time will tell. Might you happen to have a large floor jack? I have two medium sized jacks but a larger one would sure make life easier.

Thanks man and solid advice! Glad you reminded me, I used the last of my PB not long ago and need to restock. If all else fails the torch comes out. :D

Haha awesome photo and great looking bugeye, rare color too! I'm already a bit iffy about the KO2's. A few weeks ago I was out on some fire roads with a friends truck with KO's and we were sliding all over the place. I doubt that the KO2's will be much different but we'll see. Still, this is my daily so I'm sure they'll perform great given my usage. I'll report back!

Yup I do have a big floor jack and jack stands. I can believe it would take to long to grind off the shock mounts. Probably rather have them do it since they know what they are doing, I don't want to grind into my frame to much

Come on Brian, you can trust me....

PS: I'm sure we'd nail it but honestly it comes down to time. I wouldn't want to rush the job. I'll be spending my sweet time on mine even if it takes me all weekend to get it perfect.

Hahaha oh im sure you'd do just fine, but yeah I don't know how much time it'll take. I think just grind it smooth and to bare metal?

Pretty cool for free, not putting it on the truck though. Maybe the toolbox.
