Who has one and what do you have? I'm considering either the Sig 522 or the S&W M&P15-22. Thoughts? Experiences? If all else fails, I can save some money and just pick up a Ruger 10/22 or the Henry Repeater, but I do prefer something tactical. Thanks in advance.

X2. There are so many upgrades for the Ruger you could turn it into a tactical 22. The Rugers are about half the price of a tactical 22 like the sig or s&w from what I have seen.

I have the S+W 15-22 and think it is a great gun. It has eaten everything I have put into it without a ftf or fte. The 1522 is plenty accurate for me specially if I scope it but I prefer to shoot through sights.

If you like accessories there is plenty of rail room right out of the box.

Ive had a 10/22 for over 10 years and has seen many different transformations from dragonuv stocks to folding stocks and now it sports a nice wood laminate stock and a heavy barrel. with the 10/22 you have unlimited options for what you wanna do with it.

If I was to get a "tactical" .22 I would go with the MP15-22. those things run like a top and will accept AR15 parts.

true but that thing looks fucking terrible :puke:

Same for me... great reliability. Fires everything from cci stingers to federal bulk. Mags a re more expensive than the 25last round 10/22 mags but that's the only downside I can think of. Also id you get the magpul version you get about $150 worth of magpul furniture for only $70 dollars extra.

Also if you don't like the stock single stage trigger, you can drop in any other AR15 trigger group.

Those other guns seem like great choices too though, just my $0.02

Edit: Forgot to mention that the 15/22 has the same battery of arms as an AR15. Great for training the muscle memory.

My dad has the 15-22 and I have a tactical Ruger. I love both of them equally, the only thing better about the ruger is that it is infinitely mod-able and the only thing you can really do with the 15-22 is different flash hiders and rail accessories.

I really enjoy shooting my S&W 15-22. As another poster wrote, it eats any ammo. I am partial to the Federal 525 bulk. And you'll need lots of ammo, 'cause the gun is a gas.

I also have a 10/22 in tactical trim, Tapco Intrafuse stock, Tac-sol lightweight barrel, all the other add-ons. I honestly prefer the S&W. I think the cost would equal out.

My 15-22. I also own a Ruger 10/22 but I'm not a fan. Killed squirrel (lots of them), otters, and beaver with this gun.

    I have a Sig522 swat that I paid $300 for

by the time you do all your upgrades to your ruger...you're still gonna be in about the same amount of money as I am to the Sig

It eats everything i've run thru it

Had a Ciener kit in one of my ARs for a while. Turned out to be a pretty lame host for a suppressor though - between gas blowing out the action and the click/clack of the bolt, it just wasn't very quiet.

After much consideration I decided to go with the Ruger so that I could enjoy modding it myself. My wife thinks it is going to supress my desire to build a car, I think it might only fuel the fire. Here is my Ruger though, picked it up for $197. I will be tracking down a M&P Sport AR15 5.56 probably around Christmas to quell my tactical dreams. Thanks for all of your input.

I looked at the Mossberg, but didn't like that the charging handle isn't functional.
