While I was away at NTC, my best friend got rear ended in my truck. Luckily he wasn't hurt, but the bumper and hitch were damaged. The guy who hit his was very honest and stand-up about the whole situation.

It gave me a great opportunity to place an order for a Pelfreybilt standard plate bumper! It'll be finished in 10-12 weeks and I can't wait to get it on the truck.

    This is what I ordered!

I'll be designing a full size spare tire carrier to go into the bed. I opted out of the tire gate because I'm buying a 2015 KTM 450SX-F Factory Edition, and will need to be able to run with the tail gate down. I'll design the tire carrier to be easily removable for the dirt bike, as well as swing up when in use to allow for longer items to slide under it - camping, etc.

Have you thought at all about a Versahaul? Slides into the receiver.

I looked into that suggestion. I've seen those around and I suppose they do the job. I don't think it would work with the spare back there, but it might. I may pick one up instead of buying a bike trailer (once I get a RTT).

Do they wobble at all? With one real point of contact, it could twist a bit. I'm not sure if that would really be a bad thing though.

Not sure it will fit with a tire carrier. The Versahaul uses a collar that fastens to the hitch. It works to stabilize the carrier and does pretty well. It's still rocks a bit.

I like the lines of the Pelfrey bumper better than the Relentless bumper.

Last I checked (I could be wrong about this), Relentless had a pretty big gap under the tail lights that I'm not a fan of. I also didn't like the logo cut into that area either. I looked at Relentless a while ago (years probably at this point) and realized then that I wanted something different.

I've seen the Pelfrey products before on this site; so when it came time to make an order, I went with what I had recently seen and knew I liked. I have also never heard a negative thing about Pelfrey products.

This thread and this comment pretty much just sold me on the Pelfrey, did a side by side comparison of build time, price for the build, price of the powder coating as well as the shipping, seems like they are the better choice.

Thanks for the reply, and epic truck!

Absolutely; I'm glad I can help! I've received so much help on this forum, I'll never be able to pay it all back (or forward). Maybe Mr. or Mrs. Pelfrey will see this and give me a discount :spy: lol

Based on your profile picture, I don't think you need to worry about paying it back :)

I think that bumper is going to be my last big purchase for the year! And I hope they get ya that discount lol
