I'm thinking about picking up a .22 at cabellas on the way home from rc on sunday. what would y'all suggest?

    ruger 10-22 or smith and wesson M&P 15-22 or H&K MP5 A5

I guess it really comes down to bolt action or semi auto???

I know and I like yours too..

Is semi auto going to be more work to clean than a bolt action? probably right?

well if your going to get it at cabelas i think ur only choice is the rugger as the other 2 come with a 20 or 25 rd mag...."i think"
and nj is 15 i belive.....

that being said they are all semi auto u have posted above......
do the hk and mp look cool sure but i dont know if they are as well built as the ruger......
ruger 10/22 is most pop .22 ever made....
even surpases the old model 25

yea I just noticed that too.. the ruger is semi auto as well.. I thought it was bolt action.

yea the ar style .22s look cool but I'm leaning toward the ruger..

    plus my .357 is ruger...

yea definitely going for the ruger. the reason i want a .22 is for affordability. I can get many other guns for around $500. Might as well get the ruger and a scope and a case and ammo for under 5

ruger for sure. most dependable gun I ever shot. my buddy used to drop mags in the sand and throw them right int he gun without even dusting them off and I never saw it jamb.....unlike my POS Remington that jambs when the wind blows.

Good choice. You can never go wrong with a gun that has as much history as it. Tried and true dependable easy to use gun.

My Marlin bolt action has been flawless for over 22 years. It was my Christmas present when I was 10. Never had a single issue and I put it through it's paces when I was younger.
