I took you up on your invite and trolled your build thread. I love the Speedway Blue colour. It feels good when we do it ourselves.

Installed a BackRack (ladder or headache rack for you Yanks)



I needed to do a little fudging to make it fit with the tonneau cover. I drilled holes with a 2" offset (outwards) in the base bar of the rack so that the adapter brackets spanned the box properly. You can see the original factory holes in the pic that are for a bed rail mount. I'll spray Rust Check inside then cap them with body plugs. Then I drilled holes in my bed sides to mount it. I used a cobalt 1/2" bit for the bar mod and a step bit for the holes in the bed sides, then 5/8" x 2" bolts to fasten it down. There is a touch of Loctite Red under the nuts.



Not to worry about the holes in the bed sides, there is so much anti rust goop inside the box sides, that my arms were all greased up when done.

I'm good to go!

Thanks! The mirrors are Pro EFX power/heat/LED indicators; you can find them on here with a quick search.

 

If you reverse the hose clamp to face the inside where you have to use an open socket wrench or pliers to secure it, it makes it that much harder for someone to steal. Otherwise a simple screwdriver would still undo it in a timely fashion.
