Thank's Travis, the wife and I moved from Orange County California. Please dont hate. We love the outdoors and this is the place :) I used to Wheel/Camp through out the deserts in Cali and Arizona and the Sierras and also the local Big Bear Mnt.

I'm new to the area. What's Tahuya like? Where's it located?

It has everything except sand, great for beginners and experienced alike. Right now it's pretty wet because of the rain. There's rocks, logs, and dirt paths. Popular with the locals though so ATVs and dirt bikes are commonplace on the trails. It's close by Bremerton. I've been there many times and it can fit a 4Runner and Tacoma. I went with a group that went with a full size long bed Dodge 2500 and it "fit" to my surprise. It didn't get out unscathed though. Tahuya is a big grouping of trails; an ORV park.

:censored: no. Don't anyone even think about it.

I may be able to come, might need to ride shotgun with someone. If I can take my truck I won't be doing anything adventurous; I have Blizzaks on right now.

Was it really that bad? I didn't think people wanted to go back to Stampede due to whatever happened, I was just basing this thread off that one.

The group got less than 3 miles in before we had to turn around. I believe most of the group had to chain up to get out safely.

I thought the whole reason the group was going was to find and play in snow... or was this more ice then snow?

We didn’t all chain up One guy put a snow cable on one wheel. Going up in the snow after a warm week wasn’t really the best idea. I was just up to greenwater yesterday and the conditions were greatDD2556C3-209E-4965-A255-874F2A3A4DD1.jpg

It all depends on how fresh the snow is. Hard to put a date on a snow run. If it hasn’t snowed in a week it’s going to be all icy

you just have to follow the weather and know what to look for

I'll keep check on the weather, but it'll be hard because im on vacation on a cruise to the Bahamas, so no internet. I'll post it on the poll.

And that's why 4 vehicles is the largest group I'll travel with :) Not hating on people doing bigger groups, but after helping a group of 12 get turned around on an icy shelf road I've decided that it's not my idea of a fun time. It took nearly five hours just to turn everyone around safely and there was a ton of winching and shoveling involved. And then, on the way down, we got blocked in by an F250 that managed to bury himself to the frame rails from too much skinny pedal when it wasn't warranted. It was a looooooong day. Now probably 95% of my travels are solo or with one other vehicle.

There was one good takeaway from that trip though. There was a guy who brought a garden hoe with him. There was a bit of head scratching until we quickly realized how vastly superior a hoe is at removing snow from under the vehicle when compared to a shovel... longer reach and the snow doesn't fall off. I now carry a hoe and shovel when I play in the snow :)
