Thanks for posting the video. Seemed to b much more helpful than people making silly comments about how the clamps should b utilized. I think help is much better received and appreciated rather than sarcasm.

I didn’t know how to use the clamp/ clamps properly, and I am too busy this weekend to search around for threads to sort through. But, now that I have checked out the short video I will def do this to protect my tailgate. Thanks for the help.

I must have misspelled apparently. Thanks for catching that! Really though, help is much better than sarcasm when someone is actually asking for help. I’m not an angel, but I’ve been in forums for years and I believe in helping when u can and reaming someone’s ass when necessary! Have a good one man!

I agree with helping wherever one can, and I do. I don't know about "reaming someone's ass" on the internet. It doesn't seem to do much but make you feel like a big man for a second.

A good joke though can make everyone laugh and just might save the world.

... asking a huge group of folks where to put a clamp. Snickersnicker. Give us a break, lad. We're only human.

The only time that is necessary to “ream someone’s ass is if they turn their jokes into being a dick or decide to insult another unprovoked. I am a positive happy person who enjoys reading and contributing to these threads. Having someone joke is great. But at least help the guy in the midst.

But champ, I agree with ya. We should all have some fun here!!! Just at least give a honest guy asking a ? Some help. I have seen thread after thread of people getting bashed for “not searching”. Just kind of sad that instead of help, people try to do the opposite. Call me a good Samaritan or an asshole, either way is good with me! :) Remember it’s just the internet. None of us r really that badass when insulting each other through a screen! Happy holidays!!!

Holy crap. Ft. Knox. I like.

I'm trying to picture that. Don't the zip tie heads make the hose clamp bulge out too much?

People that do shit like this, deserve to be shot in the head. I know that sounds extreme, it’s just a tailgate, but I have absolutely no use for dirtbags that do this kind of stuff, and the world doesn’t either.

Doesn’t really bulge out. The metal zip ties I got had slim heads.

It’s not just Tacoma tailgates that are easy to remove, all manufactures made them easy to remove years ago, it’s just that thieves found a market for them that’s the problem. Locking the gate will slow down a thief but like others have said a clamp on the slotted side will probably make them try somewhere else. Nothing short of a bullet to the back of the head will ever stop thieves unfortunately.

Everybodys cheap is different . I protected my tail gait when I bought the truck . I forget the price for the camera but from the dealer it was either $650 or $850 fro it alone without the tail gait . That is not cheap for me.

What the dealer charges and what the value is are different. The camera itself is well under $100, and the harness is less than $50.

It’s not just Tacoma’s. All pickup brand tailgates are highly prized by thieves.

I suppose that it true but the average person has to pay what the dealer charges .
