Man, either they get screwed on TYC, or they got you goooooooood.

I bought my buddy a pair of headlights for his 1st gen for like... $35 each i think... when I had an account with TYC at work. Their lights & mirrors are stupid cheap.

Well it has been over a year. I never broke the actual light part, only the plastic. I did not worry about it until the reverse light went out. Then I discovered water in there. That is when I decided I better replace it. I did not before as the entire unit is a little pricey or l am just lazy, maybe both. lol

If you're content with paying "almost $200" for an aftermarket lamp that sells for ~$80 elsewhere, that's your prerogative. :cookiemonster:

Also, just an FYI; oempartworld.com is Toyota of Bremerton...not far from you in Seattle.

I am ok with the extra cost as I already paid for it and will have the part unit tomorrow. I will certainly do my homework next time.

For those who have been following this thread. I returned the defective part for the replacement this afternoon at O'reilly's auto parts and took it home and about 10 minutes later had the new one in and it was functioning like it is supposed to. Looks like as you said it was wired incorrectly. I really appreciate the help with this. And plus I learned there are much cheaper places for parts.
