Before you guys tell me to google it, I already have. I was putting in some led floor lights and happen to blow the tail light fuse. No dash lights no tail lights. I was pulling out the plastic trim piece right under the main dash piece and behind the shifter to route the wires. Could there be something back there that is causing the problem? I disconnected the LEDs and fuses keep on blowing. I've heard about the trailer hitch wiring problem so I'm going to check that when I have some daylight but for now I was wondering if there might be a quick and easy solution before I go dissecting this thing trying to find a short.

    Thanks

Well I looked at it today after work. Don't exactly know how, but I guess the wires from the radio can effect the tail light/instrument panel in some way. If you are constantly tinkering with routing wires and such behind the dash, save yourself some trouble and DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. Don't be like the guy who owned the truck before me and think electrical tape is suitable for a radio install. That was a mess and a half behind there. Pulled it out and redid the entire thing, plugged it back in and no more fuses blowing now. So if you have this problem and you think you may have done something inside the cab that caused it, check the radio wires and a few others back there are on the same circuit as the tail lights. That might be a little easier than tracing the entire wire to the tail lights.
