    Hey guys,
I have a 2008 DCLB that i bought in December that has a tail light issue. The tail light doesnt work but the brake light does.
It has a factory trailer wire harness that looks to be installed professionally. I havent tested any wires at the tail lights yet or closer to the cab(I dont have a voltmeter...yet). I have searched the forums but didnt come up with a whole lot other than aftermarket trailer wiring harness causing the problem and the wires ontop of the fuel tank rubbing.
Is it possible to just jump off of the other tail light wires or do I need to jump over the dammaged wire that is running to the problem tail light?

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what their solution was.

    Thanks

Did you try a new bulb? Checked the fuses?

I would think if it shorted out due to a wire rubbing the fuse would blow. Is the socket that the taillight plugs into corroded? If it has aftermarket trailer wiring that would be the most likely place to look.
