    If you don't clear them, they won't last as long. They will begin to fade.

    zeeya2000- Did you use a waxing compound then a waxing polish? that should take them from matte back to shiny

    o ok im going to clear coat them in the next couple days then. any suggesttion on the best clear coat to use or is all the same?

    I would use duplicolor engine enamel in clear.

    And if you like the glossy look, then follow how the thread shows it. (sand after clear and apply waxing compound)

    If a shop did it, then they most likely didn't wet sand. There is no need when you're using high grade paint and a compressed paint gun.

    i did not. when i was done i thought the matte finish went well with my truck so i left it

    I am bout to clear coat my taillights and i going to clean them i dont have any glass cleaner but i was wondering if i use alcohol to clean them will that take the tint off?

    alcohol might take it off , soap and water!!!

    yea it took some of it off so i put a light coat on it. i got 3 coats on them. i hope that it is not to dark.... they look darker over the pic i hope lol[​IMG]

    i had the same problem man. look at my before pictures i posted in the thread.
    i did mine way too dark. yours look a little on the darkside :(

    if they end up being too dark possibility of a ticket (theres been a few guys on the site who have gotten tickets for this) , and even getting a law suit against you if you get rearended even when its not your fault. somthing to think about....

    begin the process of evenly sanding them down till they are the right shade. or use a mild paint thinner strip it all off and start again. otherwise your looking at buying new ones.....

    i did 2 and then i used alcohol to clean them b4 clear coat and some of the tint came off so i thought i did a very light coat from like 8-10" away i thought
