Soldered is the term you seek

Actually soldering is the most robust method of connection. Of course assuming it's done properly and insulated properly. And that they used the correct wires. Which they must have, since it's just now an issue.

Since I'm ignorant of the internal workings of a remote start, do the lights flash when you start it remotely? Only reason I can think of they'd tie to that circuit.

Anyway, sounds like you are on the right path to correction. Seems the root cause is the vendor.

    Hope it all works out.

Diagnosis from the first Toyota Dealership. after this I called the Toyota ds where I purchased from. They picked up the bill, said drive on out, give us the keys, although you’re not passed your bumper to bumper on your 30k, you are on your 3 years from date of manufacture. Even w/ that. They made it clear they will not call me until all lights are working properly/ data link (car link) remote start is installed correctly, and all the nit picky details such as the front center number piece is very loose, the rattle by the pass. side dash speaker is fixed/ the squeaking of the left stantion on the steering wheel is dissipated or a new steering wheel, all free from charge. Parker Toyota in Coeur D Alene, ID deserves super props for their excellent customer service today! All is well, and yes the remote start was plugged into the running light circuit, as so when you start/ stop lock/ unlock the lights blink and beeper makes beeping sound. All is good! Thx for helping & listening. Problem here ya people come for help, but then don’t tell the community what the issue was when they got it fixed. As in my case, I really can’t tell you besides what I already have. + read the write up of the diagnoses. That mechanic straight up put “Aspen Sound” (3rd party installer from original ds) to the ground! Wouldn’t you agree? Lol

I'd have them take the remote start out completely. Warranty wouldn't cover this even if you were still in it. You're lucky the dealer is taking care of you.
