wow, would of thought chopping it right at the axle
would have added quite a bit of cabin drone... nice that didn't
    happen to you.

I didn't build it hoping for your approval, I built it because it meets mine!
I notified no difference in noise or drone either. My mud terrains are louder than the exhaust so even if there was a very small increase in exhaust noise I wouldn't have noticed it anyway lol

I was going to do that, but above the axle is already a turndown. So saved me time/money

Wondering...are there any laws/codes about the length of the pipe, etc? May be opening a can of worms here...sorry.

That's a good point, here in CA they do smog checks after so many years and the test involves them sticking some kinda meter up the tail pipe.
I wonder if they'll pass me with a turn down.

I saw that. I always thought a turn down type of pipe created
more drone. Why did you do it? Did you gain anything or was it
just in the way? So far, I'm still awaiting a decent priced CAI.

    good point.

Clearance and looks. It has come close to being smashed in stock form. And I don't like getting the exhaust under water if I won't have to

I'm thinking about doing this. I hate the look of that pipe. would the exhaust dumping down like that while still under the bed negatively affect anything? excess heat underneath? exhaust getting places it shouldn't?

Under load when exhaust is the hottest, you are still blowing it down and the wind will pull it out from under the truck

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
It would depend on locale at that point, but, the "worst" you'd see is failing inspection if the pipe isn't clear of the cab due to CO2* gas getting into the cab.

I have mine (second gen but really no difference...) cut in front of the axle.
