Bilstein 5100 Series Struts & Shocks (Struts set 2.25", Stock Coil-overs). 1" Rear Leaf Spring Blocks. Throttle Body Spacer. K&N, High Flow-Air Filter. Toyota, OEM, TRD, Cat Back Exhaust (tail pipe cut off, behind muffler, installed 3"OD X 5"L X 45 deg, turn down, dumped prior to axle). Toyota, OEM, Running Boards. Bora, 1" hub-centric wheel spacers. Mud flaps & emblems removed. Satoshi grille (by Brian Roadruck).
    2011, Tacoma, TRD, Off-road.
If I cut-off the stock exhaust pipe, 4'' behind the stock muffler & install a 7''L-9''L, turn down, angled towards the passenger side wheel -- will there be a noticeable increase of sound (idling, or, traveling at speeds above 35 mph)??
Is there any increase in fuel mileage, or, overall performance??
I am not interested in installing a cat back system!!

Yea doing anything after the muffler isn't doing much. Swap out the muffler if you want more noise. You don't have to do an entire cat back system.

If you don't want an entire cat back system just leave it alone :notsure:

I've seen plenty cut right after the axle, I did mine cuz it got smashed on a rock no difference in mpg maybe a tiny bit louder but was illegal in Utah. I now have a new muff and like it much better. You won't gain any performance by cutting it, and some state law forbids the exhaust to exit under the vehicle it must exit outside the parameter to prevent it from entering back into the vehicle

Funny since we are talking about trucks and the bed is the only place the exhaust fumes would go.
