I like the look of the inserts over the plain stamped metal tailgate. If that makes me stupid then so be it.

I prefer the look of a bare truck without all the decals etc... I was going to take all the badging and decals off then decided it might make the truck more appealing/sellable to the next owner and left them on. No interest in all that BS. It just needs to go when I let out the clutch and step on the throttle...

It's a cult thing I believe. Enhancing Tacoma wordage and signage on a truck. Like Harley Davidson; people who don't even have one like to plaster that on their vehicles. It's a good deal for the manufacturers, they get free advertising.

I won't be a tool and be used like that. I like the truck debadged. If I could, I'd do away with the Tacoma impression on the back of the tailgate myself. The Tacoma looks so much cleaner without it.

Yes there are many options out there, including the cheap ones that are nothing more than decals. I would go with the raised letters, which can be had in metal and plastic. They are just more substantial and look better. Just my humble opinion...

I couldn't recall for sure reading through posts here, but believe these are the brand I've had since August of same year. Mine have a carbon fiber look up close.

I agree in principle, which is why I removed the badges and decals.

But, the tailgate is already debossed, black 3D inserts look better.
So TOYOTA on the grill TACOMA on the tailgate, nothing else.

Zero branding anywhere looks generic as fuck.

Well to each their own. I'm not interested in making my vehicles a mobile advertising bill board, nor seeing them.

If you put badges on your tailgate, you’re a tool being used for advertising. If you take all the badges away, it looks generic, cheap and shitty. If you agree with me you’re a moron, if you don’t you’re an idiot. Looks like no matter what someone will disagree with you and tell you what they think. Nothing matters and the points don’t count, make your truck what you want

EDIT: All sarcasm (if it wasn’t obvious)

i have thought about taking my tailgate to a GOOD fab shop and having them cut out the section with the stamped TACOMA and replace with smooth new metal and re paint. we don't have anyone like Kindigt Customes here in hawaii.

Exactly. People spend thousands to do stuff to their trucks I would never dream of doing. But you know what, it's their truck. If it makes them happy more power to them.

They aren't made of steel for them to rust, they're galvanized alloy...I replaced my cheap looking plastic with a 3d metal type !

I've been using the TufSkinz letters for a few trucks now and been happy with them. Good quality, good fit and they are holding up to the weather very well. Mine don't spell TACOMA though... :anonymous:

You should return them then. The place has really good customer service. Just tell em it doesn’t spell TACOMA and I’m sure they’ll square you up.

(I see your sweet F-250 up in the corner)

(I don’t know how to do the bag over the head for a bad joke)

Well... I don't exactly own a Tacoma anymore so it'd be hard to make SUPER DUTY out of the TACOMA letters. I haven't had a Tacoma in a little bit but the guys at TufSkinz get my vote.

I didn’t get my edit in fast enough to convey my shitty attempt at a dad joke. I saw you have an F-250, obviously no need for TACOMA letters haha. Sorry bad joke, fell flat

Yeah I think it looks pretty clean without it. I got a WeBoost recently and they have a couple Tacoma pictures on the box, that have been subtly photoshopped to remove the embossed logo. It looks nice.

Believe me, i've thought of seeing a friend that runs a local body shop....having it filled in with mud, and repainted, but with my luck those letter areas would likely crack down the road.
