I like seeing the make of a vehicle on every panel and windshield and tailgate and bumper and tires and hitch and doors and mirrors and tattooed on their ass!

Mine came with them. Honestly, I like them. Matches my makeshift blackout customizations (badges, wheels/tires, exhaust tip, pro grill)

Next for me would be getting a window tint I think

Can you imagine the haters here buying a RAM truck! It would be like “love my truck except for the giant billboard on the tailgate, anybody know how to remove it!”

I tend to agree. Unfortunately the stamped “TACOMA” on the tailgate looks unfinished and the raised inserts make it look better. Can’t delete the stamp so I figure black on black inserts are a better look imo.

I bought the ebay special. No issues with them.

This biggest factor is prepping the surface.

The key to making them stay on is as follows.

1.) hand wash the inset area on the tailgate thoroughly with soap and water and a sponge.

    2.) rinse with cold water.

3.) hand dry with multiple microfiber towels until completely dry. Let it air dry about ten minutes after hand drying.

4.) Take a microfiber towel and wipe down the inset areas with rubbing alcohol or isopropyl alcohol.

5.) let it air dry. Heat up the inset letters on the tailgate with a hair dryer or heat gun. Nothing crazy just make the surface warm.

6.) remove backing off a letter. Take a cotton ball and submerse in paint thinner. Let it drip till it stops. Gently dab the sticky on the back of a letter with the cotton ball (this activates the sticky residue and makes the bond stronger between the sticky and the surface). Let it air dry a few seconds. Then apply the sticker to the corresponding inset letter. Firmly press it in and hold it for 45 seconds to a minute. Repeat until all letters are done.

7.) holding the heat gun about 6-8" away from the surface, gently go over the letters and warm them up. No need to get them hot. Just warm. This ensures the sticky will bond to the surface.

They won't come off or fall off.

In the event you need to take them off, use a heat gun and fishing line. Take your time so as not to pull the paint off. Once you're done removing them, heat up any residue and remove with your finger (don't use your fingernails), then clean with rubbing alcohol, wash with warm soapy water and a sponge, dry with microfiber towels and buff and polish as needed.

My wife got me a set foe Christmas off Amazon. Waiting for weather to warm up before putting them on. Hoping not to get them stuck on crooked! Any tips to keep them straight?

Do it right the first time otherwise you'll be taking more time to do it over.

My truck is black and I was wondering to install either Merica , blue or crimson/dark red letters. I might buy all 3 and try out

Don’t over think it. Just clean & dry the area & wipe with alcohol. You can use a hairdryer to warm up the adhesive. Get in a comfortable position directly in front of the letter you’re placing & use both hands.

Dodge is mostly to blame for all of this dating back to the 1990s with the semi truck styling and gigantic logos.

Ford is to blame for the Raptor lights, even if it’s not their fault.

I was thinking the same... (not the engine swap, but soooo many steps lol).

When I bought mine back in 2018 (forgot the brand), the letters all came pre-arranged on a paper strip.
All that was necessary was to make sure the surface is fully clean with alcohol, warmed by parking it in the sun, then lining up the letters on the strip with those on tailgate, press down & remove strip. Done.

Hopefully she got ones that come on a strip. Makes applying them real easy.
