    I was gonna paint mine safety orange but since I did the tailgate assist mod I have to make a hybrid ATD to fit the 3rd gen type hinge but on the 2nd gen tailgate, always somthing, lol

    Hello, I am interested in your tailgate anti theft brackets. I have a 2007 Tacoma TRD I am sorry but I don't if its a 2nd gen or a 3 gen whats the difference?

    You could replace the factory 10mm bolts with security screws.
    I might be able to come up with something, gimme a couple days.
    As for the pop n lock, they are junk in my opinion, the finger inside that actuates the mechanism is plastic and will fail if there is any binding or or non lubes parts on the tailgate itself

    And the pop and locks fade like crazy if you go with the manual one that doesn’t re use your stock handle.. mines been going good for almost 3 years now. But I had to spray paint it black due to it being so faded it almost matched my silver paint. I also lube it every now and then. But I also bought Chris’ anti theft device and it was definitely worth it and at a great price!

    I used to make a fix for all the broken pop n locks, I made a metal handle with a metal finger that was bullet proof, it eliminated the plastic pos finger that always breaks but had no interest in it so I discontinued it from my product line.
    As long as the tailgate mechanisms are lubed and not sticky, the pop n locks work very well.
