    hello everyone i have a wire that runs into my tailgate but i have no idea what its for unless its for a back-up cam...without looking to far into this can someone tell me what its for? 2013 regular cab 4x4 tacoma. would like to get a back-up cam in the future and i hope the wire is already ran..

    Thought the back up cam came standard on all models since like 2011 or so?

    i have no backup cam. im hoping that wire its for a backup cam and i dont have to run a line to my touch screen radio...i cant think of anything else that could be back there..if i get mixed answers im just going to open it up.

    its wiring for the backup cam...I believe it runs up your roof to your mirror. the 2013 guys buy the ebay kit that hooks it up to the touchscreen.

    My SR5 came with the backup cam....first one I've had. Pretty convenient, but I hate that you lose it when you have the tailgate down.
