Tailgate beeping as if it was open but closed and lock

    Good evening everyone new member here and also new to the tacoma lineup but i have a 2021 trd off road im literally at work went to grab food at lunchtime tailgate was beeping if it were open but it is closed and locked and the display on the dashboard has a red light on the tailgate could it be a bad sensor? Taillights bulb gave out?it is low key bothering me can't seem to figure it out and any help is appreciated

    i didn't even know a tailgate sensor was a thing... if the tailgates closed, and the truck says it's open, the sensor is not getting back to truck computer. could be wiring, or could be the sensor itself.
