They look pretty good.. who cares about a little water?? Take it to the car wash and ask the bro's to be sure and wipe up water around the letters... problem solved.

What I was asking is if these were a part of a trim, like Sport, or whatever. Several at the lot had these, but now that I see some on the road around town I realize they all don't. So then I thought it was a
17 thing, or some other thing. Again, the water was to explain that they were not flat vinyl decals. I can handle the drips.

 

Those letters are Chinese from Amazon or Ebay.. not from Toyota... demand a refund. You got ripped.

 

No, that is not factory on any trim level, the dealer must have put them on. That said they are actually pretty nice inserts compared to my cheap Amazon ones. If they're holding water when washing just spend a little extra time drying in the area or blow them out.

 

I like them.

Maybe not enough to go out and purchase some but if they were already on my truck I'd rock 'em.

If anyone's got red letters on a black tailgate, please post a pic! Debating going red letters to match a couple other accents or keep it black

I was debating red or gray and went with gray for a more stealth look.
I saw a black taco with red inserts on the road and it looks good too but a little too showy for my tastes.

 

Not aftermarket, my truck came with them too straight off the lot with 2mi on it. Letters do not leak water though.

Its like a dealer installed lift kit. They added it to put a mark up on the truck.
