Tailgate FAIL?

I use my tailgate quite a bit. 2019 with 32k miles. Given it’s been extremely hot here in Bend, OR so I think it just warped maybe? This piece snapped and now it doesn’t seat right!!!! Do you know the part #?

Is that the side with the piece for tailgate assist?
Either way, go to the dealership for repair.
I don’t know what the warranty is on the new trucks?
If it’s 36k, I would go really quick.

The dealer just fucks everything up. I really wanna do it myself.

 

Mine broke the same way. Just changed out that one piece. Simple. Cheap. But yours should definitely be free under warranty. Here’s a thread about it. (Although this thread deals with the early 2016 models)

shouldn't be all that difficult...in the hands of a trained professional.

 

If you’re in Bend take it to Kendall Toyota, if in Portland go to Wilsonville Toyota.

 

Took it to the dealership. They said this is considered “wear and tear” and wouldn’t be covered under warranty. However, they were nice enough to do it for “goodwill.”
