    Part of my tailgate broke at the pivot point and now the latch does not catch when lowering the tailgate. Easy fix? Or should I take it to the dealer for a specific part. Thanks! First picture is the good side second picture is where it broke.

    Easy fix. Just get a new damper from the dealership

    that part number is for the entire hinge assembly for each side. if that is the only way to get the dampeners is buying the whole thing then fine but the parts are also only $25 a side on any of the online Toyota part sites.

    Ya I looked into it. Theyre trying to rip me off saying both sides need to be done. Also saying toyota is changing their coverage for warranty and they have to look into if its covered or not. I have extended 100,000km
