hey so I'm wondering if anyone has run across this problem, and what they are doing to fix?
I just got a 2011 taco, and standard now they come with the back up camera integrated into the mirror, which is awesome. Now i wanna put a tonneau cover on my truck, but the tonneau cover that i want assumes that your tailgate has it's own key lock, is there a way i can add a key lock to my tailgate on the cheap?

Cover King Seat Covers, WeatherTech Liners, PopNLock, storage bin locks, N-Fab Step bars, and G4 Elite Tonneau cover.
Some covers come with a latch to tie it to the tailgate which acts as a lock. My Fold A Cover has a loop that can be installed on the tailgait to prevent it from being opened when the top is down but I installed a Pop and Lock instead and it works fine. They are very easy to install.

I am in debate on a lock for my tailgate. I want the keyless lock from Dyno or Pop&Lock, but don't know which one. I have to live with a lot of salt and sand on the roads in the winter and the Dyno is stainless... I have read a little bit on here about the Pop&Lock sticking... anyone else have this issue or have anything particularly good or bad to say about one or the other?

I just noticed the other day that I can open my tailgate with a pop & lock installed with it locked....:(

    Waste of money...

    HAHAHA

You gotta be a complete dumbass to screw up the install of a pop and lock.

EDIT: Lock your pop and lock and lift up on the handle like you normally would and I bet it opens..

Its installed correctly and I can open the gate with it locked.

I had my gate stolen off my truck 2 weeks after I put my pop and lock on and I know for a fact it was locked. Being able to open my new gate with the lock proves that these things are a waste of money.

At least you're willing to admit it. I've forgotten mine was locked and grabbed the handle and it won't open. Check your installation bud.

As far as I'm concerned the PNP is a POS. It has a mind of it's own and locks by itself, If I don't lube it at least once a month, it's very difficult to open (rotate the tumbler). I bought the color match SWB and within a few weeks the paint started to peel. Hey vendors you gotta come up with a better manual lock for our Tacos - please.

I installed a Dyno lock 2 days after buying my truck about a week and a half ago. If I can do it, anyone can do it. It's solid and locks with the fob. I highly recommend it.:)
