    Elsewhere on the site is a description of using a piece of exhaust tubing to fit in place of the clamp. Has to be cut to fit and some disassembly required. But defeats the cold chisel technique of removing the clamp....

    I have the clamp and I also added a coated cable around the hinge to the frame.
    I hate thieves.

    It is a good idea, a few dollars to prevent the theft of an expensive tailgate. Sure it can be defeated if they are willing to take the time and have the tools, but most jobs will be a quick grab and run. They are more likely to just move onto something easier than mess with it.

    i just did this mod to prevent tailgate theft...............waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper and cooler! :)

    Piece of Pipe over tailgate hinge - can't be cut without extra equipment.
