    UPDATE:
Mine came a few days ago. (bought the same one the OP has pictured). Super fast shipping from the ebay seller. It works great and you cant beat the price. I'll add photos to my build thread soon.

I just received and installed my bully lock and it does not work as demonstrated in this video... the lock is too loose and allows for it to be shifted. This provides enough room to slide the tailgate out.

skip to 30 second mark to see removal

so yours is snug? If it isn't snug, it isn't going to stop anyone from sliding it slightly to the side.

I understand that there are other options, but I want to know if anyone has successfully used the bully lock on a 2011 tacoma. There is no way that it will work on my truck, so I am not sure if I got a bad one or what.

I saw this and tried to remove the tailgate on my 2011 that has the Bully Tailgate Padlock installed. Although the padlock is able to shift sideways about 1/8", it was more than sufficient to prevent me from removing the tailgate. I've actually liked this little device, sorry to hear it may be having problems for you...

Yep, works fine here. There is no way the tailgate is coming off with this on.
