Tailgate reinforcement???

Now I like that!!! did you use the stock hardware. I noticed mine giving way when I stepped on it awhile back. Not as stong as I thought.

 

Here is what I did before I got my gater-saver (Seth came out of retirement and did another batch). It worked fine but not as well as the 'saver. There is a company locally (metal-tech) that does lots of things for FJ's and is starting on Taco's. I plan on talking to them about the gate problem.

In an above post, someone offered to provide a CAD drawing of the Taco tailgate reinforcement plate. I have access to material and fabrication equipment. I would like to make one that does not go over the top lip of the tailgate (and make it as heavy duty as possible). Thanks in advance.

 

This is 7 years old. But there is a design like that available from a member on here.
