Tailgate Replacement

Was moving some cheap furniture for my parents and decided to tow a trailer with the tailgate down like a jackass.

Well stupidly hurts the wallet and the local auto body estimated $1800 to replace it. So now I’m looking for other options. Has anyone tried out one of these tailgate shells before? They look decent, they don’t have the Tacoma lettering which I don’t care about. Painted to match, seems like a decent deal.

There are used ones for sale. Likely cheaper... also likely stolen.

I have the exact same tailgate, black Tacoma lettering even, sitting in my garage that I could sell you. Removed at 9,000 miles. Too bad that you are on the other side of the country.
